A second-degree murder charge has been filed in last week’s shooting death of 21-year-old Jaiden Drimmel of St. Joseph.

Buchanan County Prosecutor Ron Holliday has filed the charge against 19-year-old Dylan James Grippando of St. Joseph.

The original report indicated Drimmel was stabbed to death, but the prosecutor’s office says it has been confirmed that Drimmel was shot to death.

Witnesses reported to police late last Thursday afternoon that Drimmel staggered out of his home at 831 S. 23rd Street in St. Joseph. He fell to the ground. Emergency crews rushed to the scene, but too late, he was pronounced dead.
