A 46-year-old St. Joseph man has been charged with second-degree assault, accused of stabbing a man during an altercation.
Mark Deng is being held in the Buchanan County jail.
St. Joseph police say Deng entered a residence in the 200 block of North 8th Street late Saturday night with a large hunting knife. Police accuse Deng of tossing items in the residence, then following an occupant as he tried to leave. Police allege Deng stabbed 46-year-old James Isaac Earl Bonnett when he attempted to intervene.
Bonnett received treatment at Mosaic Life Care.
