Kenneth Ray Hawley, age 86, passed away peacefully in his home in Lansing, Kansas, on January 23, 2026, following an extended illness.

Kenneth was born on January 23, 1940, in Wilson, North Carolina, to Josiah Hawley and Viola Seawell Haigood. He was a graduate of Park University and proudly served his country in the United States Army for 20 years, from October 13, 1959, until his retirement on October 31, 1979. Following his military service, Kenneth continued his dedication to public service through a career in civil service, beginning on August 2, 1980, and retiring on October 2, 2000. In addition to his professional career, he owned and operated Cheep Guy Antiques for 16 years, a venture that reflected his love for history, collectibles, and connecting with people.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Josiah Hawley Jr., James Hawley, George Hawley, Wilber Hawley, Earl Hawley, Elton Hawley, Vance Hawley, and Bobby Hawley; and his sister, Virginia Lamm.

He is survived by his loving wife, Hyon Hawley; his biological son, Elton Hawley of Orlando, Florida; his stepson, Francis McKibben, who is actively serving in the United States Air Force and stationed in the United Kingdom; his sisters, Mae Moore of Cary, North Carolina, and JoAnne Riggs of Wilton, Maine; and many cherished nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his beloved pet, General, who remained faithfully by his side.

Kenneth will be remembered for his years of service to his country, his strong work ethic, and his enduring devotion to family.
