You have a chance to meet with an artist, eat a great meal, and take in the collection at the Albrecht Kemper Museum of Art Tuesday evening.
After-hours returns to Albrecht Kemper with free admission to the St. Joseph art gallery.
Albrecht Marketing Director Kaitlyn Doolan says it’s a great opportunity to view art and get up close and personal with John Hulsey, who’s “Transcendence: Truth in Nature” exhibit is now on display, because Hulsey will be giving a talk about the exhibit.
“And, also that night, John’s going to be co-teaching the kid’s media class for kids ages 6 to 12,” Doolan says. “So, it’s a great way to meet John, see his work, and ask him some questions.”
Hulsey is from Lawrence and attended the Kansas City Art Institute. His exhibition at Albrecht runs through April 16th.
Albrecht Executive Director Eric Fuson says it is a great opportunity to learn more about the artist and his art.
“It’s nice to have some insight,” Fuson says. “It gives a lot of life to the painting and what the person’s thinking. You start to look at it completely different.”
After-hours at Albrecht Kemper begins at six o’clock Tuesday.
