As the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary, a large part of St. Joseph's history will be celebrated next month with the annual Pony Express Re-Ride set to depart.

The Pony Express Re-Ride will depart from St. Joseph at approximately 3 p.m. on Monday, June 15th, from in front of the Patee House Museum, the original site of the Pony Express, and arrive in Sacramento, California, on Thursday, June 25th.  Riders will carry a commemorative mochila (mail pouch) in a continuous relay, day and night, retracing the historic trail across multiple states.

The Re-Ride is organized by dedicated volunteers and members of historical associations who work year-round to preserve and promote the story of the Pony Express.  The public is encouraged to attend the mochila exchanges, meet the riders, take photos and engage with local Pony Express volunteers at each major stop.

The ride can also  be followed along live as it travels via GPS tracking by clicking HERE. .
