Judy Gay, 80, Savannah, Missouri; passed away Thursday, April 9, 2026.
Judy was born on February 15, 1946 in Empire Prairie, Missouri, to the late Clayton and Beaulah (Wall) Gibson. She was a 1964 graduate of King City High School.
After graduating from beauty school, Judy worked a few years as a beautician.
Judy married Jerry “J.D.” Gay on June 4, 1967, and became a devoted and loving farm wife, helping her husband take care of the family farm and raising their two children, David and Shannon.
Judy was baptized at the Whitesville Baptist Church. She enjoyed flowers and gardening. She also loved fishing and bird watching.
Judy was very outgoing and never knew a stranger. Later in life, she worked at “The Kitchen” were she made fast friends with many of the regular patrons, particularly the Andrew County Ambulance District.
Judy is survived by her husband of 58 years, “J.D.”; son, David Gay (Rebecca), St. Joseph, MO; daughter, Shannon Taylor (Timothy), Savannah, MO; two grandchildren, Brett Gay and Samantha Johansen (Brody); great-grandson, Ryder and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Judy was also preceded in death by her step-mother, Ida Gibson; granddaughter, Riley Beth Taylor; brother, Roger Gibson and her sister, Sharon Hawman.
Judy will be cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel, where the family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, April 13, 2026 at our chapel located at 307 S. 6th St. Savannah, Missouri 64485.
