Louis "Roy" Barger, 93, passed away with his family by his side at home in Wathena, KS.
He was born January 3, 1933 in St. Joseph, MO to the late John and Mabel Barger. He was a veteran of the Korean war and was a member of Operators Engineer Local 101. Roy married Evelyn "Kitsy" Shalz on June 23, 1956 in Troy, Ks. Roy was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wathena.
He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, his brothers, John, Jess, Willis, and William and his sister, Marie. Roy is survived by his children, Frank, John, Doug (Pam), Joe (Laura) and Judy (Grant) Thomas, grandchildren, Megan (Josh), Blaine, Brett (Lindsey), Colton, Chandler, Peyton (Doug) and Reegan, great-grandchildren, Gracie, Jaycee, Evie and George.
The Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM with visitation to follow until 8:00 PM at Rupp Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wathena. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Wathena. Memorials are requested to Doniphan County Pet Rescue, Bendena, KS.
