Benton and Lafayette High Schools have canceled their football games this Friday, as both teams have low numbers due to contact tracing amid COVID-19 cases within the school district.
Benton was scheduled to host Savannah this week, while Lafayette was set to take on crosstown rival Central High School on Friday.
Instead of not playing a game this week, Central and Savannah have now agreed to play this Friday at Savannah High School.
This announcement came before Benton principal Beery Johnson said Monday night that BHS is moving to remote learning from September 22nd through October 5 due to multiple positive cases among staff members, and a significant number of staff and students who have to quarantine.
