The Midland Empire remains in the grip of bitter cold with the National Weather Service placing the area under a wind chill warning.
The frigid cold prompted most school districts to cancel classes today, including the St. Joseph School District, the St. Joseph Catholic Academy, the St. Joseph Christian Schools, and the Savannah R-3 District.
