ATCHISON COUNTY —Two teens were injured in an accident just after 10:30p.m. Monday in Atchison.
According to Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson, a 2001 Lexus passenger car driven by Haylee Roles, 16, Atchison, was westbound at a high rate of speed in the 1300 Block of Commercial Street in Atchison.
She lost control of the vehicle. The car traveled off the roadway, struck a concrete retaining wall on the north side of the street and then struck concrete steps and a metal railing. The vehicle then overturned and landed on its top on Commercial Street. Both the driver and a 15-year-old male passenger were ejected from the vehicle.
EMS transported both to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.
