It is with great sadness we announce that Patty Lou Humes entered eternal rest on Tuesday November 14, 2023. she passed at her home surrounded by family and her dear cat Lou Lou, at the age of 84.Even in her last hours, she was a pillar of strength, assuring the ones she was leaving behind of brighter days to come, and soon, the day will come that smiles will replace the tears. She spoke of anticipation of family that awaited her in Heaven. She would see her father, William Meyers, again, and would finally get to meet her mother, Henrietta Beck Meyers, and her twin brothers, Maurice and Marvin. Her brave Aunt Ada, who stepped up when she needed a mother as a infant, her uncle Arthur and Nola, and his wife Lillian Beck. She’ll see her oldest and dear son Butch Humes, Her cousin Vernon Beck, and her best friends Jeanie Baker and Melba Carter. Hazel and Fred Humes, will greet her with love as they reminisce of time gone by. Kenny and Janice Humes, born family but became friends of a lifetime. But last but not least, there awaiting with complete admiration will be her beloved Billy D. Humes. Married on Dec 15, 1956, Love unbroken even by death for 57 years, still true and still cherished. Besides raising her family, And helping with her grandchildren, and great grandchildren, she was apart of many activities and Clubs, including Western Star Chapter 197, member of 40 plus years, were she held numerous illustrious positions in her service, including Worthy Matron. Even on her final days, she was proud to say she still knew her pledge. She loved playing cards with her friends, Jack, Bill, Christine and Joan. Farkle was the highlight of there Friday or Saturday night.She is survived by her son, Terry albert and Debbie, Her daughters in law, Dee Dee and Veronica Humes. Cousin, Lynette Beck, Vivian, and Ada Melissa. All of her grandchildren that she cherished deeply, Shannon, Mandy, Jessy, Justin, And Ryan Paul Humes. And her great grandchildren Kyleigh, Alexis, Caitlyn, Starlette, Skylee, and Addisyn. And her Many friends at Weston Senior Apartments, including Christie Wilma, Beth Karen Wheeler and Linda Graves.A graveside Funeral will be held 10:30am Monday, November 20, 2023, At Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be given to LCHS humane society, 100 W Gilman Rd, Lansing Ks, in honor of her cat LOU Lou.Although we will forever miss her, we are content, for that all Gods sparrows must return home.
