Myron “Randy” Kelley, 67, passed away March 4th, 2026 surrounded by his loved ones, including all four of his siblings. He was born May 13th, 1958 in Camden Point, MO to Alvin and June (Lovelace) Kelley.
Randy was a dedicated, hard worker and spent much of his life traveling with Jamison Construction, building and maintaining greenhouses in 44 states, Canada, and the Virgin Islands, which he loved doing. When he wasn’t on the road, he enjoyed fishing on the river, golfing with his family and friends, and in his earlier days, horseback riding. You could also find him leaning against a truck or at a local diner telling a story.
The line that seems to be ringing true since his passing is “if you knew him, you loved him.” Randy’s stories and laughter drew people together and turned even strangers into friends. He had a rare gift of striking up conversations with anyone he met, and by the time they walked away, they felt as though they’d known him forever. His compassion blended with his quick wit made everyone feel at home in his presence, regardless of their age or walk of life.
In his final weeks, that impact was on full display. His hospital room was constantly flooded with family and friends- so many that a nurse commented that she had never seen that many people crammed in a room for one person. It was a final, living tribute to a man who spent 67 years building a community around him. Even then, Randy remained the center of joy, laughter, and of course, jokes.
He is preceded in death by his parents and several immediate family members.
He is survived by his siblings, Brenda Bledsoe, Pat Kelley, Mike Kelley (Debbie), and Janie Jamison (Norman), and several nieces and nephews, great and great-great.
The family will host a Celebration of Life will be held at Robert S. “Bob” Bryan Community Center (Dearborn Community Center) located at 202 N. Commercial anytime from 2 p.m.- 5 p.m on Saturday, March 14th.
