Every family in the AFL-CIO Community Services’ Adopt-A-Family program were adopted this Christmas, with donors coming through just before Christmas to adopt the last few families as time ran out.
More than 700 families, representing more than two thousand people, requested help this holiday season from the organization.
Donors came through after the AFL-CIO Community Services issued a plea for help earlier in the week. The organization reported only about 50 families remained to be adopted on Wednesday with enough donations coming in to adopt the remaining families.
Executive Director Nichi Seckinger says she is grateful, and relieved, that so many donors came through to help those less fortunate this year.
