Kenneth R. Glauser (81) of St. Joseph, MO passed away at his home Sunday, April 25, 2021.
Ken was born March 13, 1940. He attended Neeley Elementary School until the 5th grade when he joined the workforce to help care for his family. He served his country in the US Army where he received a Good Conduct Medal, and Expert (rifle) and Sharpshooter (m-14) medals as well. He also served as a Fire Crewman during his time in the Army.
After serving in the military Ken married the love of his life Frances Harriet Glauser. In his 30’s Ken obtained his GED from Lafayette High School He had a very successful career in Insurance Sales for Reserve National Insurance. Ken enjoyed collecting and selling antiques, playing poker and making others smile.
Ken was a very loving , caring and humorous man. Family was his number one priority, he raised his children, several grandchildren, as well as had a hand with several great-grandchildren.
Ken Is Survived by his wife Frances Harriet (Younger) Glauser; Sisters Shirley Myers and Joyce Glauser. Brothers- Jack Redmond; Sister-in-Law Mary Glauser. Daughers- Cynthia (Fox) Bennett, Dina (Nelson) Yager. Son- Jerry Nelson & Teri, Grandchildren- Amber Fox & Nate, Andrea DeSpain, Ashley(Smashley) DeSpain & Brent, Aaron Coy, Misty Shade, Paden Nelson, Cole Yager, Chris Coy, and Jason Shade & Sammy. Great-Grandchildren- Chloe, Sebastian, Rose, Collin, Andrew, David, Brenton, Jerzi, Sawyer, Thomas and Lexi. Ken has numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ken was preceded in death by his mother Adelia (Beahler) Glauser, Granddaughter Christine Yager, Brothers John & Carl Glauser, and nephew Carl Wayne Glauser.
Visitation will be Monday, May 3. 2021 at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. The Service will follow at 4pm at the funeral home.
