St. Joseph public schools will release early on Friday.
With the National Weather Service extending the excessive heat warning from Thursday evening until Friday evening, the school district will extend its early dismissal schedule, releasing classes two-and-a-half hours early on Friday.
Included are all elementary, middle, and high schools along with the Hillyard Technical Center, Webster, and the Early Learning Centers.
School lunch will be provided.
The St. Joseph School District provided this schedule for Friday, August 25th:
High Schools: 7:25am to 12:05pm
Middle Schools: 7:35am to 12:15pm
Elementary Schools: Carden Park, Coleman, Edison, Field, Hosea,
Lindbergh, Parkway, and Skaith Elementary: 8:10am to 12:45pm
Elementary Schools: Ellison, Hyde, Oak Grove, Pershing, and Pickett Elementary:
8:45am to 1:15pm
Early Learning Centers: Lake Contrary 1:00 p.m. and Mark Twain 12:15 p.m. (Busing will be provided to and from school for Early Learning students)
District employees will follow the district inclement weather policy, Scenario C: Suspension of Classes Due to Excessive Heat.
