Donald A. Hager, 79, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026.
He was born May 11, 1946 to Anthony and Josephine (Soptick) Hager. Donald grew up in St. Joseph, where he was a graduate of Christian Brothers High School and attended St. Joseph Junior College.
Donald served his country in the U.S. Air Force.
After the service, he worked at Wilbert Vault and Carnation, and was a deputy for the Buchanan County Sheriff’s office. He then worked for many years at Johnson Controls (now Clarios) and retired from there.
Donald was a gun enthusiast and a federal firearms dealer. He enjoyed researching different firearms.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his daughters, Shelley Scott (Joey) and Heather Clark; grandchildren, Nicole, Tyson and Madison; great-grandchildren, EmmaJo and Kaine; and his former wife, Constance Burke Hager.
Private Graveside Farewell Services and Interment.
