Macenzie Marie Bassett, age 28, of Leavenworth, Kansas, passed away on December 19, 2025. She was born on December 5, 1997, in Leavenworth, Kansas, where she spent her life surrounded by family, friends, and the familiar comforts she cherished.
Macenzie is lovingly survived by her parents, Bruce and Susan Bassett; her brother, Josh Bassett; her sister, O’rian Heckman; her grandmother, Linda; her grandparents, John and Chris; her grandmother Janelle; her nephews, Cassius, Rashad and Camden who brought her endless joy; her Aunt Tina and Uncle Carlos; Aunt Lynda; Uncle Brian and Aunt Angie and many dear friends who will forever hold her close in their hearts.
Macenzie had a gentle soul and a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. She loved watching true crime documentaries, often intrigued by the stories and mysteries behind them. Music was a constant companion—comforting her, inspiring her, and reflecting her emotions. Most of all, Macenzie treasured time spent with her close friends, creating memories filled with laughter, conversation, and genuine connection.
Those who knew Macenzie will remember her for her kind heart, quiet strength, and the way she made others feel seen and valued. Her absence leaves an immeasurable void, yet her love, spirit, and the memories she created will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A visitation service will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Davis Funeral Chapel, 531 Shawnee Street, Leavenworth, Kansas.
