Dolores Montemayor Hayward passed away on June 24, 2023, in St. Joseph, Missouri, the same city where she was born on October 28, 1943. Dolores was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt who touched the lives of many with her warmth, kindness, and zest for life.
Dolores graduated from LeBlond High School in St. Joseph, and later worked for Sherwood Medical for many years. She was an avid swimmer and enjoyed cooking meals for her family. Dolores loved to spend time with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She could often be found at the Flying Pig Tattoo, decorating her skin with the beautiful artistry of her tattoo artist and friend, Chris Berry.
Dolores touched the lives of all that knew her, and her presence will be greatly missed by those who loved her.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Blas Sr. and Esperanza “Hope” Montemayor; siblings, Jesse Montemayor, Sr., Blas Montemayor, Jr., Albert Montemayor, and Josephine Cardwell; and son, Shawn Hayward.
Survivors include her daughters, Tina DeHaven (Kevin) and Andrea Hayward; siblings, Frank Montemayor, Sr., Paul Montemayor (Denise) and Martha Meng; grandchildren, Ashley Dahns (Greg), Heaven Hayward, Brandon Hayward (Matt), Brittany Poland, Mercedes Hayward (Anthony), Nathaniel “Jordan” Hayward, Manny Hood, Ian Hood (Destiny), Kadin DeHaven, Briana Thomas (Michael), Ariana Thomas, Christiana Thomas, and Eviana Thomas; seven great-grandchildren, and nephew, Steven Cardwell (Ashton).
Farewell Services and Public Livestream 1:00 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service.
