The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work the Missouri Department of Transportation has planned in the Northwest Missouri region for the week of May 11-17.
There may be moving operations, such as mowing, brush cutting and litter removal, throughout the region in addition to the work mentioned below. Inclement weather may cause schedule changes in some of the planned work. Check the MoDOT Traveler Information Map, or download the app for updated information.
MoDOT asks drivers to work with them by buckling up, putting your phone down, slowing down and moving over in work zones.
Andrew County
Route DD – Scrub seal project, May 11-13. The road will be narrowed to one lane with a pilot car guiding motorists through the work zone.
Route O – Scrub seal project, May 11-13. The road will be narrowed to one lane with a pilot car guiding motorists through the work zone.
U.S. Route 169 – Bridge maintenance at the bridge over Interstate 29, May 11.
I-29 – Bridge maintenance southbound at the bridge over Route DD, May 12.
I-29 - Bridge maintenance northbound at the bridge over Route DD, May 13.
Atchison County
U.S. Route 136 – Resurfacing and drainage improvement project through July 2026. ADA ramp improvements at3rd Street in Tarkio May 11-15. The road will be narrowed to one lane, and a 10-foot width restriction will be in place.
Routes 46, 111, V, B, C – Various bridge rehabilitation projects through May 2026. The bridges may be narrowed to one lane with flaggers.
Buchanan County
Gene Field Road Bridge – CLOSED for a bridge replacement project through July 2026.
U.S. Route 59/Route 752/Route U – Intersection improvement project through spring 2027.
U.S. Route 169 – Intersection improvement project at Route FF through mid-August 2026. A 10-foot width restriction will be in place. Access to 49th Street will be closed through June 2026.
U.S. Route 169 – CLOSED for an intersection improvement project at Southeast Riverside Terrace through mid-July 2026.
I-29 – Bridge approach repairs at the Pigeon Creek and Beek Creek Bridges, northbound, through May 2026.
Route A – Bridge maintenance at the bridge over I-229, May 11-15. The bridge will be narrowed to one lane with flaggers guiding motorists through the work zone.
Clinton County
I-35 – Pavement rehabilitation in the southbound lanes from Exit 40 (Lathrop) to Exit 48 (south Cameron) through September 2026. Both north and southbound traffic will be one lane, each direction, in the northbound lanes.
DeKalb County
I-35 – Shoulder work southbound from the 55.4 mile marker to the 53.4 mile marker, May 11-12. Southbound will be narrowed to one lane.
Gentry County
Route EE – Seal coat overlay from Route T to Route P, May 4.
Holt County
Routes B, 111, 59, C, N – Various bridge rehabilitation projects through May 2026. The bridges may be narrowed to one lane with flaggers.
Public Meeting - Route 111 Tarkio River Bridge replacement. A public meeting will be held on May 12, 4-6 p.m. at the Craig R-III School District.
Nodaway County
Route 113 – Various bridge rehabilitation projects through May 2026. The bridges may be narrowed to one lane with flaggers.
U.S. Route 71 – Resurfacing project from the Iowa state line to U.S. Route 136 near Burlington Junction through August 2026. The road will be narrowed to one lane, and a 10-foot width restriction will be in place.
Route U – CLOSED around-the-clock for a crossover improvement project at the U.S. Route 71 crossover between north and southbound lanes of Route 71, May 11-22.
- Route 71 will be narrowed to one lane in both directions at Route U around-the-clock.
Route E – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from 120th Street to 130th Street, May 14, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Worth County
Route 46 – CLOSED at Marlowe Branch Creek for a bridge replacement project through May 2026.
