Marvin Ray Bowen, age 83, of Maysville, Missouri passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025.

Marvin was born on September 3, 1941, in Andrew County, Missouri, to William and Violet Bowen. He graduated from Lafayette High School in 1959. He was a dedicated employee of the Missouri Department of Transportation, where he worked faithfully for 37 years. He also worked for Hyatt’s processing. His strong work ethic and commitment to service left a lasting impression on those who knew him.

Marvin was united in marriage to the love of his life, Ida Bernice Bowen, with whom he shared 63 wonderful years.  Together, they built a life rooted in family, love, and growth.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Ida Bernice Bowen; grandchildren, Cassie Flint, Casey Flint (Peyton), and Carlee Gibson (Josh); great-grandchildren, Teagan, Remington, Henry, Kobin, Tyson, Eden, and Ronon; and his sister-in-law, Mary Bowen.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Violet Bowen; his daughter, Penny Littlejohn; and his brother, Gary Bowen.

Marvin had a deep love for the outdoors and a passion for hunting – he even loaded his own shells.  He also enjoyed fishing, trap shooting, gardening, and practicing the art of taxidermy.  His knowledge, talents, and stories will be cherished and missed by all who knew him.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.

Marvin will be remembered for his quiet strength, loving heart, and unwavering devotion to this family.  His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.
