A Buchanan County jury has found a St. Joseph man guilty on charges of driving while intoxicated and driving with a revoked license.
57-year-old Jeffrey Lynn Nichols of St. Joseph was found guilty of the class C felony of driving while intoxicated as a chronic offender and the class E felony of driving while revoked following a one-day trial on Wednesday.
Nichols was intoxicated at almost three times the legal limit when his vehicle left the road back in late November of 2022. A homeowner found Nichols sitting inside the vehicle, which was inoperable after the wreck.
Sentencing is set for September 29th. Nichols could face up to 14 years in prison.
