St. Joseph Police say the young woman who suffered severe burns in that fiery car crash at 14th and Mason Monday afternoon has died.
The victim, 28-year-old Jessica Asher, was flown from Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph to KU Medical Center in Kansas City for treatment of her burns.
A semi tractor-trailer rear-ended Asher’s car as she was stopped at the intersection. The impact forced her car into oncoming traffic where it was hit nearly head-on. The car burst into flames. Asher had to be extricated from the vehicle.
The investigation is ongoing. The prosecutor's office is considering charges.
