A wind chill warning has been issued by the National Weather Service until noon Tuesday with dangerously cold wind chills, as low as 35 below zero.

Cloudy and cold today with a high of one-above.

Mostly cloudy overnight with a low of -11. Wind chills tonight will be between -18 to -28.

Sunny and cold on Tuesday with a high of 11.

Be cautious if outside today. Wear appropriate clothing, gloves, and boots. The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.

Wednesday should bring us a bit warmer weather with a high of 27 forecast, but the temperature is expected to fall again on Friday with a high of 7-above expected. The first real rise in temperatures is forecast for Sunday, which at present, is expected to have a high of 30.

Missouri Western State University is off today in observance of Martin Luther King Day. Missouri Western has announced it will close its St. Joseph campus Tuesday as well, due to the extreme cold. Missouri Western anticipates being open on Wednesday.

We don’t have many closings, because of the holiday, but we do have a few. Click HERE for a complete list of closings.
