Class 1 state track area highlights - Brooklyn Miller wins three golds, Mound City boys place second

The Class 1 state track and field championships took place at Adkins Stadium in Jefferson City on Saturday.

St. Joseph Christian senior and Nebraska track and field commit Brooklyn Miller won three gold medals, while the Mound City boys came home second as a team with 48 points.

Girls' high jump
St. Joseph Christian's Brooklyn Miller placed first, clearing 1.70 meters (5 feet-7 inches). North Andrew's Alaina Officer placed third with a mark of 1.58 meters (5 feet-2.25 inches).

Girls' pole vault
Stanberry's Katlyn James placed 4th, clearing 2.68 meters (8 feet-9.5 inches).

Girls' long jump
South Nodaway's Malia Collins placed 5th with a jump of 4.69 meters (15 feet-4.75 inches).

Girls' triple jump
DeKalb's Carissa Martin and Lainie Vogan both placed in the event. Martin came home fifth (33 feet-2.5 inches) and Vogan sixth (33 feet-2 inches).

Girls' shot put
Rock Port's Alivia Baucom is a state champion with a throw of 12.40 meters (40 feet-8.25 inches). South Nodaway's Maggie Collins placed fifth in the event with a throw of 11.15 meters (36 feet-7 inches).

Girls' discus
Rock Port's Alivia Baucom also won gold in this event with a throw of 126 feet-10 inches - more than 12 feet ahead of everybody else.

Girls' javelin
St. Joseph Christian's Brooklyn Miller won gold here with a meet-record throw of 39.67 meters (130 feet-2 inches). Stanberry's Lexi Craig was second with a throw of 39 meters (127 feet-11 inches). Union Star's Journey Lyons placed sixth at 33.60 meters (110 feet-3 inches).

 Girls' 4x100 meter relay
South Nodaway's Malia Collins, Paige West, Stephanie Turpin and Kayley Hauber placed 5th with a time of 52.94 seconds.

Girls' 4x200 meter relay
Stanberry's Sadie Runde, Letah Angle, Amelia Wallace and Katlyn James placed third with a time of 1:51.56.

South Nodaway's Malia and Maggie Collins, Stephanie Turpin and Kayley Hauber were right behind in fourth at 1:51.79.

Girls' 4x800 meter relay
DeKalb's Kalyn Hartman, Harlie Hall, Macy Dittemore and Gracie Hanshaw placed 4th with a time of 10:40.94.

Girls' 100 meter dash
South Nodaway's Kayley Hauber placed seventh at 13.06 seconds.

Girls' 200 meter dash
Union Star's Mara Mitchell placed fourth with a time of 26.89 seconds.

Girls' 400 meter dash
North Andrew's Emalee Pitmann placed fifth with a time of 1:01.10.

Girls' 1600 meter run
North Andrew's Jaclyn Reidinger placed third at 5:38.74. She then placed fourth in the 3200 meter run, clocking in at 12:20.78.

Girls' 300 meter hurdles
St. Joseph Christian's Brooklyn Miller placed first in the event at 48.42 seconds - a new school record.

BOYS

Boys' Pole Vault
Mound City's Tony Osburn placed fourth at 3.78 meters (12 feet-4.75 inches).

Boys' long jump
King City's Landon Wells placed fourth at 6.16 meters (20 feet-2.5 inches). His teammate Parker Muff placed sixth at 6.04 meters (19 feet-9.75 inches).

Boys' shot put
Stanberry's Austin Colvin is a state champion with a throw of 15.87 meters (52 feet-0.75 inches). That's also a new school record.

Boys' shot put para final
Bishop LeBlond's Elliott Murphy placed first with a throw of 5.08 meters (16 feet-8 inches).

Boys' discus
Stanberry's Austin Colvin placed third here with a throw of 43.99 meters (144 feet-4 inches).

Boys' 4x100 meter relay
King City's Corbin Taylor, Ty Mooney, Landon Wells and Parker Muff took first in the event with a time of 44.04 seconds.

Boys' 4x200 meter relay
King City's Corbin Taylor, Ty Mooney, Landon Wells and Parker Muff placed second with a time of 1:32.90. Mound City's team of Lane and Keaton Zembles, Wil Young and Landon Poppa placed third at 1:33.74.

Boys' 4x400 meter relay
Mound City's Wil Young, Lane and Keaton Zembles and Caedon Messer placed 8th with a time of 3:38.61.

Boys' 4x800 meter relay
Mound City's Wil Young, Caedon Messer, Keaton Zembles and Lane Zembles placed 5th with a time of 8:44.01. Stanberry's Colby McQuinn, Brayden Hahn, Austin Schwebach and Tyler Schwebach placed 6th at 8:48.62.

Boys' 100 meter dash
Mound City's Landon Poppa is a state champion with a time of 11.14 seconds. St. Joseph Christian's Landon Swavey placed third, clocking in at 11.37 seconds.

Boys' 100 meter dash para final
Bishop LeBlond's Elliott Murphy placed first with a time of 19.27 seconds.

Boys' 200 meter dash
Mound City's Landon Poppa also took gold in this event with a time of 22.64 seconds. Bishop LeBlond's Hayden Cross placed second at 22.91 seconds.

Bishop LeBlond's Elliott Murphy placed first with a time of 40.49 seconds.

Boys' 400 meter dash
St. Joseph Christian's Landon Swavey is a state champion with a time of 50.52 seconds - a new school record. Bishop LeBlond's Hayden Cross placed third in the race at 50.97 seconds. Mound City's Wil Young was seventh at 52.45 seconds.

Boys' 800 meter run
Stanberry's Tyler Schwebach finished the season undefeated in the event, winning the state title with a time of 2:01.93. Mound City's Keaton Zembles was fourth at 2:04.65.

Boys' 1600 meter run
West Nodaway's Tyler Blay placed second with a time of 4:30.19. His teammate Riley Blay placed seventh at 4:50.69.

Boys' 3200 meter run
West Nodaway's Tyler Blay is a state champion in this event with a time of 9:34.49 - a new state meet record. Riley Blay came in third here at 10:06.52. Mound City's Lane Zembles was fourth at 10:13.34 - a new school record.
