Robert Charles (Bob) Strong, 79, of Atchison, Kansas, passed away at his home on February 26, 2026.
He was born on September 28, 1946, in DeKalb, MO, to Robert Calvin and Marguerite (Hacquel) Strong. He graduated from DeKalb High School in1964 and married Geri (Horn) in 1968. He served in the Army Reserve for six years in the heavy artillery branch. He had a passion for building cars and started his own auto body business, Strong Body Shop, in 1969. Bob was a hard worker, the life of any party, and he loved his family with all of his heart. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Joseph Strong. He is survived by his wife, his daughters, Kristie (Michael) Basalyga, Schwenkville, PA, Jennifer (Michael) Bewley, Lawrence, KS, Lindsay (Tom) Cornelius, Bothell, WA, a brother, Terry (Patti) Strong, Savannah, MO, a sister, Kathy Schmoyer, Independence, MO, ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation with the Strong family on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. Visitation hours will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison, KS. A private family burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations in Bob’s honor be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home.
