East Atchison's Kelsea Kirwan shot a 94 in the second round and finished with a two-day total of 189 to win the Class 1 state championship in Columbia Tuesday. Kirwan won the title by five strokes over South Harrison’s Abrielle Owens.
Alex Barnett added a 206 in seventh, while Sydnee Bruns finished with a two-day total of 211 to finish in 10th place. Josie King finished 18th with a 218.
As a team, the Wolves finished with a two-day score of 826 - 83 strokes ahead of second place Clever.
Elsewhere in Class 1, Maysville's Hannah Riner finished fourth with a 199. Elle Copple of Gallatin tied for 8th with a 207.
Class 2 in Bolivar
Maryville’s Cailyn Auffert finished fifth overall in Class 2, posting a two-day score of 165. She shot an 83 on Monday and an 82 Tuesday.
The Spoofhounds took sixth in the team standings with a 766 total. Lauren Jaster finished 23rd with a 191, Casey Phillips was 34th with a 196 and Alayna Pargas finished 64th with a 214.
Elsewhere in Class 2, Savannah's Mollee Olszowka finished tied for 44th with a two-day score of 201.
Class 4 in Joplin
St. Joseph Central's Ali Perry medaled at state golf for a second straight year, improving off of a 13th place finish in 2021 and medaling seventh this year, finishing with a two-day score of 158 - just 12 strokes off the lead.
Central senior Ava Gaddie improved off of a 62nd place finish last year and came in tied for 39th with a score of 184.
