Augusta "Ann" Ebling March 30, 1927-March 27, 2026

Augusta Ann Hieb Ebling of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, March 27, 2026 at Abundant Care Health facility in Savannah, Missouri, three days shy of her 99th birthday.

She was born March 30,1927 in St. Joseph, Missouri to the parents of Charles and Elizabeth (Punzo) Giannetta. Ann (Chubby) to all that grew up with her, graduated from St. Patrick’s Grade School in 1940 and Central High School in 1944.She married Harold Hieb Sr. in April of 1950, he died in August 1973. She then married Donald Ebling Sr in October 1982, who died in November 2010. Ann retired from Heartland Regional Medical Center in 1990 after serving as an Administrative Assistant for 23 years. She was a member of Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church and Saint Ann Alter Society. She loved her family, working with her flowers, enjoyed going out to dinner at Barbosa’s, and the hospice people, playing cards on Friday, and she especially liked going to the boat once a year to do a little gambling. She also was a very avid KC Chiefs and Royals fan. She prided herself in always looking nice and having her hair done every week. She still drove up until about Thanksgiving of last year.

Ann was proceeded in death by her parents, stepmother, Lena (Lipira) Giannetta; two brothers, Lawrence and Vincent Giannetta; son, David Hieb; daughters-in-law, Julia Hieb, Cindy Boyer Hieb; and stepson's, Donald Ebling Jr. and Randy Ebling.

She is survived by her sons, Harold Hieb Jr., Weatherford, Texas; Kevin Hieb, St. Joseph, Missouri; granddaughter, Lindsay Hieb, Ft. Worth,Texas; grandson, Robert Hieb, Kyle, Texas; half sisters, Mary Dorothy Jones, Saint Joseph, Missouri, and Josephine Hamera, Livermore, California; stepchildren, Ronda Kovac and Tom Ebling, St. Joseph, Missouri; Sandy Ebling, Wichita Kansas; seven step grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10-11am Thursday, with the Rosary to be prayed at 10:30 am Thursday, Funeral Services will start at 11:00 am Thursday, all at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at Mt Olivet Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO. Memorials are requested to the American Cancer Society.
