Mary Ann Dill was born on April 23, 1942, on a farm west of Rosendale, MO, on Hwy 48 to R. Glenn and Anna (Gilmore) Martin. The family moved in 1945 to a farm south of Fillmore. She graduated from Fillmore school and went to Northwest Missouri State College for 1 year.

Mary Ann was employed by the American Angus Association as a programmer for the Honeywell 400 Computer System 1961-1966.

She married Richard T. Dill on November 24, 1962, at St. Rose of Lima Church, Savannah, Mo. They lived in Savannah 1963-1968, when Richard’s job with AT&T moved them to Kansas City.

They were the parents of three children, all of whom survive her: Andra, Michelle and Martin (Linda), and granddaughter, Avella Dill.

Again, Richard’s job moved them to Sioux Falls, SD, in the fall of 1973. Mary Ann began working as the Religious Education Secretary for St. Lambert Church in 1976-1989. At that time, she took a position as the Guidance Department Secretary at O’Gorman High School and worked there until retiring in June, 1999. They bought land and built a house in Andrew County in 2000. She also worked as the Secretary for the Fillmore Alumni Association 6 years and as the Secretary for the North Andrew Scholarship Foundation from 2002 until 2022.

Mary Ann loved dancing, working in the garden, helping with mowing the lawn, reading, working on Family History and playing games on the PC. She especially loved traveling and had made two trips to Ireland with Richard. They also made many trips to Sioux Falls, SD, to enjoy their granddaughter, Avella.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Glenda Kay Barr, brother-in-law Bill Barr, and her nephew, Carey Barr and grand-nephew, Rob Lowrance. Addition survivors include many cousins, nieces and nephews.

The visitation for Mary Ann will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home on Thursday October 10th. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Friday October 11th, 2024 at St. Gregory Church, Maryville, MO. Burial will follow in the Fillmore Cemetery.
