2 northwest Missouri teens injured after driver falls asleep

LINN COUNTY —Two northwest Missouri teens were injured in an accident just before 2a.m. Tuesday in Linn County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2009 Mitsubishi Galant driven by a 16-year-old from Chillicothe was westbound on U.S. 36 three miles west of Laclede.

The driver fell asleep and the car traveled off the road. The driver overcorrected and the car struck the guardrail.

Linn County ambulance transported the driver and a 17-year-old passenger to the hospital in Brookfield. Both were properly restrained, according to the MSHP.
