Northwest mass media student dies, attendees at funeral asked to wear red in his honor

Northwest student Joe Huber passed away from an unexpected illness on Jan. 6, with a funeral service held on Jan. 11 where attendees were encouraged to wear red, his favorite color. Huber, a senior studying mass media with an emphasis in broadcast production, was known for his talent in playing the guitar and writing music. His death came as a shock to his professor, Alex Kirt, who described him as a kind and talented young man. Northwest President Lance Tatum notified the campus community of Huber's passing and encouraged those in need of support to reach out to counseling services.
