Melinda Sue Owens, 62, of Wathena, Kansas passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.
Melinda was born on March 16, 1963, in Sikeston, Missouri to Lawrence and Dorothy (Young) Owens. She resided in Dexter, Missouri for many years before moving to Cameron, Missouri in 2001 where she worked in health care as a certified nurse’s aide at the Cameron Nursing Center in Cameron, Missouri.
She is survived by her two sons, Dustin (Becca) Brown and Kevin (Nikki) Brown; six grandchildren and a great-grandson arriving soon; her brother, Chris (Cinthia) Owens. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Larry Owens and sister, Debby Owens and one granddaughter.
Her family would like to Thank Wathena Health Care for taking care of her while a resident of the facility and a special thanks to Parker at Mosaic Life Care ICU Team during her final days.
Ms. Owens has been cremated under the care of Price Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri.
