Melvin Paul Sale, age 94 went to his heavenly home November 1, 2024.
He was born in St. Joseph, Missouri. Melvin graduated from Central High School.
He was a proud Navy Veteran, receiving several merits over his enlistment. Melvin was a typesetter printer for the News Press and Gazette for 40 years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Melvin enjoyed fishing, hunting, bird watching, playing guitar and spending time with his family.
In his younger years he enjoyed art by sketching animals. He attended Claire United Methodist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents and nine siblings.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Merelyn; daughters Mary Kay DeShon (Rex), Linda Kafka (Vince); son Gary Sale (Jenny); along with eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 6, 2024 from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Private family graveside services with full military honors will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery.
