Lance Gasper, passed away unexpectedly on February 26, 2026, at Amberwell Hospital in his hometown of Atchison, Kansas. He was born on May 24, 1985, in Atchison, the son of Anthony Joseph Gasper and Brenda (Wood) Gasper.
A graduate of Atchison High School, Lance was an accomplished athlete, known particularly for his state wrestling accolades. He furthered his education, obtaining an Associate's Degree from Highland Community College before earning his Bachelor’s Degree from Wichita State University. He studied to be a chiropractor and was only one year short of completing his doctorate.
Lance proudly served in the Army National Guard for ten years, completing tours in Iraq and demonstrating his dedication to his country. This experience shaped him and contributed to the compassion with which he approached life. Known for his big heart, his indigenous name was “The one with the big heart”. Lance was passionate about helping others, a trait that resonated in all his interactions. He found joy in working out, lifting, and strength training. Walking and spending quality time with friends and family brought him great happiness and fulfilment.
Lance leaves behind his father, Anthony "Tony" Gasper; his beloved twin sons, Roman Gasper and Eli Gasper; and his brothers, Ricky Gasper, Nico Gasper, and Jason McGregor. He was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda Gasper, and all his grandparents.
A visitation to honor Lance's life will be held on March 20, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home in Atchison, followed by a memorial service at 7:00 PM.
