Martha Clements of St. Joseph, MO, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, age 79. Martha was born on July 29, 1943, in Oceanside, CA, and was the daughter of the late Frank Lopez, Elaine and Dale Martin.
Martha dedicated herself to serving the community through countless organizations such as the League of Women Voters, Robidoux Row, and St. Joseph Historical Society. She was actively involved in political campaigning and supported her children’s school organizations while working at Townsend & Wall and Shelter Insurance.
Martha was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was passionate about antiques, British history, and introducing her children and grandchildren to arts and culture. She was known for her whimsical and childlike spirit. Martha always had valuable wisdom and a pot of spaghetti to share with others. She deeply loved all animals and was never seen without a cat.
She is survived by her husband, Marion Clements, daughter Michelle Clements, granddaughter Alexis Clements, grandson Zachery Clements (Sarah Insco) and her beloved cat Cosmo Kramer.
Martha is preceded in death by her son Michael Clements.
An out-of-state funeral service will be held at a later date. In place of flowers, the family extends the option to make a charitable donation in Martha’s name to the St. Joseph Animal Shelter.
