JOHNSON COUNTY —Detectives with the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department are currently investigating human remains discovered Tuesday afternoon.
Just after 1p.m., police were dispatched to the 400 Block of South Bayard just north of Kansas Avenue and west of the 18th Street Expressway on a report of possible skeletal human remains found by a Kansas Department of Transportation employee.
The initial investigation indicates the remains were from a man who had been dead for several months and possibly much longer. The KCK Police Major Case Unit is in charge of the investigation.
