William Harvey McClintock, 84, passed away March 28, 2023 in Houston, Texas after a brief illness.
Bill grew up in Marshalltown, Iowa, where he was a member of the 1956 Iowa State Championship High School Basketball Team.
He graduated from Grinnell College where he received his commission in the U.S. Air Force and met his wife, the former Ann Hedgpeth of Rock Port, Mo.
Captain McClintock served in the USAF from 1960 to 1965 in Korea and Vietnam, then moved with his family to Houston, Texas, and began his business career as a stockbroker with Bache and Company.
Bill and Ann opened Ann's Clock shop in 1979. Later known as Ann's Fine Gifts, the business served the Houston community for 42 years.
Bill is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ann; daughter Sarah McClintock and grandson Darren Carter; son Scott McClintock and wife Shana McClintock; and grandchildren Samuel and Sharlotte McClintock.
He was an entrepreneur and a man of vision and optimism who welcomed every challenge. He loved visiting Ann's Rock Port family, the late Jimmie and Thelma Hedgpeth and Jane and Wes Christen. He considered Rock Port his hometown.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Greenhill Cemetery, Rock Port, Mo.
