Carolyn Mae Wilson, 80, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023 at her residence in Horton, KS.
She was born August 7, 1943 in Tampa, Florida to Linas and Thelma (Woodward) Dietz.
Carolyn married William Wilson on September 5, 1964. He preceded her in death on September 5, 2012.
She previously was a Carrier and District Manager for the Lawrence Journal-World, and also had been a custodian for USD 497 School District. She then was a bookkeeper for various companies over the years.
Carolyn enjoyed reading murder mysteries by the Authors Janet Evanovich, Stuart Woods, James Patterson, Carol Higgins Clark and many others. She also enjoyed watching television shows such as “Fixer Upper”, “Love it or List it”, “House Hunters” “Law and Order SVU,” “Criminal Minds”, and “DOG the Bounty Hunter.”
She was a sports fan, rooting for the Kansas Jayhawks, Kansas City Chiefs, and Kansas City Royals.
Carolyn enjoyed visiting with friends that she made throughout the years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, William; and her parents.
Survivors include her children, Novita Wilson and John Wilson; grandchildren, Morgan Kramer (Jacob), Ashlee Wilson and her fiancé Clark, Keyana Cooper, Zachary Cooper, Austin Wilson, and JC Wilson; great-grandchildren, William Riley and Taegan Kramer; and brother, Ronald Dietz.
Carolyn was an outstanding woman, she lit up any room and everyone loved to be around her.
