Jayson Allen Gwinn, 47, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026 in St. Joseph.
He was born June 24, 1978 in St. Joseph, son of Vicki (Ripper) and David Gwinn. Jayson graduated from Benton High School, class of 1996. He worked at International Paper as a Machine Operator for 27 years. His hobbies included fishing, playing softball and coaching his boys baseball. He also enjoyed shooting pool, playing darts and spending time with friends.
Jayson was preceded in death by his step-mother, Patricia Gwinn. Survivors include father, David Gwinn, mother, Vicki (Tim) Russell, sister, Tara (Clay) Redmond, brother, Derick (Michelle) Gwinn, sons, Dalton Gwinn, Dayton Gwinn, Devan Gwinn, all of St. Joseph and Drennan Gwinn of Faucett, MO, grandson, Walker Gwinn, paternal grandmother, Willia Gwinn and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, March 30, 2026 at the Rupp Funeral Home. Mr. Gwinn will be cremated following visitation. Inurnment at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery.
