3 hospitalized after SUVs collide at truck stop entrance

NODAWAY COUNTY—Three people were injured in an accident just after 11:30a.m. Sunday in Nodaway County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2012 Ford Explorer driven by Doris L. Hagey, 87, was southbound on U.S. 71 one mile north of Maryville. 

The driver attempted to turn into the parking lot of Gray's Truck Stop and traveled into the path of a 2010 Chevy HHR driven by Jered M. Smith, 57, Maryville. The Chevy struck the front end of the Ford.

Nodaway County EMS transported both drivers and a passenger in the Chevy Levi S. Smith, 27, Maryville, to Mosaic in St. Joseph. All three were properly restrained, according to the MSHP.
