Douglas Wayne Cochran, 61, Troy, Kansas, passed away Monday, November 17, 2025.

He was born June 12, 1964 in Smithville, Missouri, to Donald and Katherine (Stephens) Cochran. He earned his master’s degree from the University of Kansas.

On October 22, 2011, Douglas married Christine Ake. She survives of the home.

Douglas was an engineer for many public wastewater systems, including Polk County, the cities of Bartow, Lakeland, Leesburg, Mulberry, Winter Haven, Cargill and Oakley as well as Publix Super Markets, all in Florida, and for the City of Olathe and City of Kansas City in Kansas.

Music was a big part of Douglas’s life. He performed in Somebodies, Thought Penny, Furtherest, bands in Kansas City.

He enjoyed chess, the Kansas City Chiefs, and his cats.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Cochran.

Survivors include his wife, Christine; children, Tyler (Nicole) Cochran, Samantha Cochran, Ashley (David) Goatley; grandchildren, Malique, Zoey, Britney, Alaina, Anna, Dallas, Aubree, Anslee, Preston, Loralei, and Jocelyn; his mother, Katherine Cochran; and sister, Cheryl (Daryl) Woodmansee.
