Donald Brent Stephenson, 70, of Hiawatha, Kansas, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on February 2, 2026.
Don was born and raised in the Phoenix, Arizona area with a strong sense of family and responsibility that guided his life. He earned a bachelor's degree in business from Northern Arizona University, but ultimately found his true calling in practical nursing. For 25 years, Don devoted himself to providing home-health care to special needs children, work that reflected his deep compassion, patience, and generosity of spirit.
Don loved riding his bike, spending time outdoors in the Colorado mountains, collecting baseball cards, and faithfully cheering on the Denver Broncos. Above all else, he found his greatest joy in caring for his family and patients and being present in their lives. Don was a kind, steady soul whose quiet generosity left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his mother, Margie Stephenson; his sister, Lori Eubank; nieces Staci Roe and Megan Young; nephews Jacob Roe and Jason Young; great-nephews Carter Lynch, River Lynch, and Tanner Young; great-niece Arbor Cox; and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas H. Stephenson, and his sister, Barbara Lynn Young.
Don's legacy is one of kindness, humor, service, and unwavering love for his family, and he will be deeply missed.
