ANDREW COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just after 4p.m. Tuesday in Andrew County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2019 Chevy Blazer driven by Barbara J. Cronk, 64, Maryville, was northbound in heavy traffic on Interstate 29 three miles north of St. Joseph in the driving lane.
The driver failed to yield to stopped traffic and rear-ended a 2022 Chevy Silverado driven by Jose A. Lallana, 61, Plattsburg.
After impact, the pickup rear-ended a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Madalyn A. Kreek, 19, Oregon, Missouri.
The Jeep then struck the driver's side on the towed unit of a 2021 Chevy Silverado driven by Robert. P. Johnson, 58, Bolivar, and traveled into the passing lane and struck a 2009 Toyota Camry driven by Gabrielle M. Mueller, 19, Maryville.
After impact the Camry traveled across the west side of the road and the drivers side struck a guardrail.
After the 2022 Silverado struck the Jeep, it continued northbound and struck the towed unit of the 2021 Silverado.
Andrew County EMS transported Kronk and Kreek to Mosaic Life Care. A private vehicle later transferred Kreek to Fairfax Community Hospital. There were no other injuries. All five drivers were properly restrained, according to the MSHP.
