At the end of last month, after months of development, the Buchanan County Sheriff's officially launched its phone app helping give the community better access and communication to the Sheriff's Office.
The Buchanan County Office Sheriff's App is available on both Apple and Android devices and is free to download. The app provides citizens easier access to information and services at the Sheriff's Office and also includes several features allowing the pubic to be more informed about the goings on in Buchanan County. Some features are listed below.
- Instant and timely notifications
- Inmate search and look up
- Education and safety information on topics such as, drugs, cyber safety, avoiding scams
- Methods of reporting crime incidents directly to law enforcement, which can also be done anonymously
- Methods to connect with key law enforcement personnel and to find information about their children's SRO
- Severe weather alerts
Updates will also be coming to the app the Buchananan County Sheriff's Office says, including the addition of a scheduler which will allow citizens to schedule appointments such as CCW Renewal, Inmate Visitation, and Sex Offender Registry.
