Buchanan County Sheriff Bill Puett is asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect in the armed robbery of the Smoker’s Heaven store in Winthrop.

Puett reports an unidentified black male described as approximately 30-to-40 years old wearing a white hat, blue bandana style face covering, maroon shirt, gray sweatpants, gray shoes, and black and blue gloves walked into Smoker’s Heaven around 7:30 Wednesday night. The suspect threatened the cashier with a black handgun and demanded money.

The suspect fled across the Amelia Earhart bridge into Kansas in a light-colored four-door sedan driven by another suspect.
