Ron Johnson, 79, of rural Hiawatha, died Friday morning, August 25, 2023, at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Hiawatha where he had been a resident a short time.
Ron was born at Norwich, CT, September 22, 1943, the only child of Margareta Johnson. When he lived at Groton, CT, he worked with General Dynamics building submarines until 1998 when he and his wife Donna moved to the country near Powhattan, KS.
He enjoyed working as a blackjack dealer at Sac & Fox Casino from 1999 until 2011 when he retired.
Ron enjoyed hunnting and fishing in his earlier years. In Connecticut, he had a red sailboat “The Pan” that he loved to sail.
Survivors include his wife Donna Pfister Johnson, two daughters: Ronna (Mike) Keith, Lynn (Rick) Darragh; two grandchildren: Katherine Darragh and William Keith.
At his request, he was cremated with no services planned at this time.
