It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Terry Simmonds, who departed from this world on December 29, 2023.  He leaves behind a legacy of love, humor, and enduring memories that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Terry's life was characterized by his unwavering dedication to his family and his work.  He openly shared that his greatest accomplishments in life were his children and union with his wife Debbie.  Terry was a present, devoted father and husband.

He took great pride in his contributions as a manager at TRW Mission, then as an auto mechanic, and finally MIS at Casino White Cloud.  He was self-taught in most of his endeavors, achieving expertise that was unmatched.  Having self-proclaimed “hands of a surgeon,” he could fix anything and did so for anyone who asked.  Whether in his professional pursuits or personal relationships, Terry exemplified a spirit of honesty, compassion, and generosity.

Terry will be remembered for his sense of humor, love of soulful music, and his impeccable ability to deliver a good story. His impact extended far beyond his immediate circle, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him.

Preceding him in death was his father, Clarence “Big Babe;” mother, Rosalie; brothers Dennis and Duane; in-laws, Reinhold and Abigail Heine; and beloved dog, Cooper.

Terry is survived by his wife, Deb; sons, Todd and Ryan; daughter, Katie Gilliland (Alex); beloved dog, Marley; brother, Edward Simmonds; sister, Lisa Law; and grandchildren, Jacob, Ethan, Chloe, Savannah, Isabella, Hayden, Calvin, Kamryn, Lydia, Alivia, and Elias.

While we mourn the loss of a dear man, let us also celebrate the beautiful life that he led. May his spirit live on in the memories we hold dear and the values he imparted to us.

The memorial service to honor and remember Terry Simmonds will take place on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 11:00 am at Chamberlain Funeral Home, 1705 Ridge Dr, Mound City, MO. A visitation will begin at 10:00 am. A private family inurnment will be held at Grange Hall Cemetery in Rock Port, Missouri at a later date. Friends and family are invited to join together in paying their respects and sharing stories of his remarkable life.

May Terry Simmonds rest in eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire and bring comfort to those who mourn his loss.
