Dolores Jean Reynozo, 89, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2023.
She was born November 10, 1933 in St. Joseph to Charles and Oleva (Nelson) Cooper.
Dolores met the love of her life, Richard Reynoso, through her brother-in-law. Dolores married Richard on September 23, 1961. They shared 61 years together before he preceded her in death on June 2, 2023.
She proudly served her country in the U.S. Army as a medic during the Korean War. She loved taking care of the babies in the neonatal ward.
Dolores earned her bachelor’s degree in criminology in Florida, then spent her career as an elementary school teacher in both Florida and St. Joseph.
She was happiest being a homemaker and taking care of her family.
Dolores volunteered with Twin Spires Church to assist the mentally handicapped and was a longtime member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her parents; and siblings, Joan Knapp and John Cooper.
Survivors include children, Ritchie C. Reynozo (Colleen), Robin C. Reynozo (Milagro), and Relinda A. Reynozo; grandchildren, Amber Roberts, Kayla Roberts, Caton Reynozo, Alexander Reynozo, and Joshua Reynozo; and siblings, Susan Pashik and Charles Cooper.
Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 16, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery.
