Katherine "Katy" June Throckmorton 90, of St. Joseph, Missouri went to join her savior and Lord Jesus Wednesday, April 15, 2026 in St. Joseph.
She was born September 7, 1935 in St. Joseph, daughter of the late, Vernon Sauter and Wilbur Ritchie. She attended Benton High School and went on to marry Rev. Floyd "Sonny" Throckmorton. She worked at Interstate Coffee Company, Herman Drug Store, Operated K&S Cakes and Pies, and was a babysitter. But her true dedication, was attending God's Place for 37 years, the church she shared with her late husband, Rev. Sonny. She was truly dedicated to God and serving her community. Katy raised many children, nine of her own, as well as many foster children and grandchildren. She loved any and all animals but never spiders.
Katy was preceded in death by her parents, step-father who raised her, Clemens Sauter, husband, Rev. Floyd "Sonny" Throckmorton, son, Terry Throckmorton Sr., brothers, Lester Ritchie, James Ritchie, and Charles "Butch" Sauter.
Survivors include daughters, Kimmie (Lowell) Brashears of St. Joseph, MO, and Sheila (Orville) Smith of St. Joseph, MO, sons, Rick Throckmorton of Clarksdale, MO, Chris Throckmorton of Elwood, KS, Ty (Karen) Throckmorton of Savannah, MO, Darin (Samantha) Throckmorton of Clarksdale, MO, Mark Throckmorton of Fall City, NE, and Brian Throckmorton of St. Joseph, MO, brothers, Vernon "Pete" (Mary) Sauter, and Clemens Sauter III, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and her very best friend, Betty (Ritchie) Smith of St. Joseph, MO.
A Celebration of Life will take place 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Stewartsville Community Room, 631 Park Ave., Stewartsville, MO. A Private Family Graveside will be at King Hill Cemetery, at a later date. Memorials are requested to the St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital .
