DONIPHAN COUNTY —Two people were injured in an accident just after 7:30p.m. Saturday in Doniphan County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2006 Chevy Avalanche driven by Harry E. Smith, 74, Troy, Kansas, was northbound on 195th Access Road one mile north of U.S. 36.
The vehicle struck a 2006 Chevy Silverado driven by Sherman E. Smith, 63, Troy, that was stationary facing southbound in the northbound lanes.
After impact, the Chevy Avalanche struck an unoccupied 2007 Chevy Silverado that was on the shoulder of the road. A pedestrian identified as Logan K. Smith, 31, Cosby, was standing outside of the 2006 Silverado when the head-on collision occurred.
EMS transported Harry Smith and Logan Smith to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. Sherman Smith was not transported for treatment.
Harry Smith and Sherman Smith were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, according to the KHP.
