After breaking ground on a $100 million expansion project in May last year, Daily's Premium Meats in St. Joseph on Thursday celebrated the opening of the expansion.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The project expands the Daily's facility to 111,000 square feet, double the size of the previous facility, and allows Daily's Premium Meats to produce 5% of the nation’s bacon in St. Joseph.&nbsp; The facility is a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility which adds new advanced technology to help increase production, including advanced in-line slicing technology as well as even more production monitoring capabilities.

The facility, when fully operational will bring around 150 new jobs in the area with&nbsp;starting wages between $47,000 and $53,00.
